Survey: Employers may lack features younger nurses desire
Health systems show 80% of younger nurses request flexible scheduling, but only 11% of health system executives said their organizations offer such scheduling. Instead, many hospitals focus on compensation. A quarter of nurses state limited career advancement training and opportunities as a reason they would leave before retirement, but many health systems are not emphasizing these programs as a recruiting and retention method. Younger nurses are more likely to request payment increases, seek specialized roles and request more career advancement opportunities, compared with older nurses, the survey found. Released this week, the 2023 Healthcare Executive Report is a survey of 100 health system executives by Incredible Health, a health care career marketplace. (HealthLeaders Media article, 6/13/23)
