Survey: CNOs view virtual nursing as integral to care
Nearly 90% of CNOs believe virtual nursing offers an opportunity to recruit nurses who are either unable or unwilling to work at the bedside, according to a survey released this week. Conducted online by Joslin Insight on behalf of AvaSure between April 10 and 18, 2023, the survey included 789 responses from health care professionals mainly working in acute care settings; nearly half of the responses were from nurse leaders or key decision makers. Respondents said the top reason for recruiting virtual nurses is to improve nurse satisfaction and retention. They listed patient discharge as the top use case for virtual nursing. Nearly 40% of respondents said they have already implemented virtual nursing or are in the process of doing so.
