Spitzer writes about leadership mentor

In an essay published in the February issue of Nurse Leader, Roxane Spitzer, PhD, RN, describes learning from her mentor, Peter Drucker, PhD, the founder of modern management. Spitzer, the editor emeritus of Nurse Leader and a retired health care executive, explains how he inspired her to pursue a doctorate in executive management. He taught her the purpose of business is to deliver quality to the customer and to benefit society overall. Drucker also taught her that relationship-based work environments improve worker satisfaction.
