Senate introduces bill reauthorizing Dr. Lorna Breen Act
Bipartisan legislation introduced this week would reauthorize for five years the AONL-supported Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act (S. 266). The bill would provide grants to help health care organizations offer behavioral health services for front-line health care workers. Introduced by Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., Roger Marshall, R-Kan., Jack Reed, D-R.I. and Todd Young, R-Ind., the bill also would authorize a national campaign to provide hospital leaders with evidence-based solutions to support worker well-being. The original law passed in 2022. (Sen. Kaine news release, 1/28/25)
