Report offers steps health systems should take to adopt AI
Health leaders implementing artificial intelligence platforms should communicate clearly with nurses and use case studies showing how AI works to build trust and ensure nurses understand how it can benefit their roles. Communication strategies should be tailored to resonate with wide ranging views within the profession on the topic. In addition, health leaders should implement training programs customized for nurses to explain AI and enhance proficiency in AI tools. Finally, health leaders should solicit and integrate nurses’ feedback into AI solutions to address challenges and improve nursing’s experience with the technology. The recommendations result from the fourth iteration of a study of 1,100 nursing professionals and students from researchers at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, and Cross Country Healthcare, a tech-driven, workforce-solutions firm based in Boca Raton, Fla.
