Press Ganey assesses ‘flight risk’ among nurses
Almost 30% of RNs are at risk of leaving their current employers, according to a recent study by Press Ganey. The company’s analysis of responses from 100,000 health care employees nationwide found low levels of engagement, especially among RNs. Those working night and weekend shifts were most disengaged, and millennials were at the greatest risk of quitting their jobs. The analysis recommended organizations take the pulse of their team members frequently and share the information they gather to ensure employees feel appreciated. "Nurses who are on the fence about leaving the profession altogether are watching to see if leaders are really listening and willing to tackle tough issues," said Press Ganey Chief Nursing Officer Jeff Doucette, DNP, RN.
