Pandemic disrupts pediatric APRN practice
A survey of 789 pediatric-focused APRNs found they are experiencing “significant disruption in care provision, patient presentations, clinical practices, immunizations, and revenue streams.” Respondents reported the same mental health challenges other nurses faced during the pandemic, with 34% reporting moderate to extreme concern for professional burnout. A quarter said they felt anxious or nervous, and 15% said they were experiencing depression or hopelessness. (HealthLeaders Media article, 11/16/21)
