Oncology nurses driven by mission, CNO says

Oncology nurses who work at Karmanos Cancer Hospital in Detroit are attracted to the organization’s mission of cancer care, according to CNO Kathleen Carolin, MSA, RN. Many of the hospital’s nurses have a personal connection to a loved one with cancer or had cancer themselves. They seek out work at the National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center because of its exclusive treatments, clinical trials, multidisciplinary teams of cancer specialists and cancer prevention programs.
