Nurse-led barbershop talks aim to address health equity

Nurse-led barbershop health talks developed by two Black male nurses in northern California aim to address health equity. Taking place in neighborhoods throughout the region, the talks seek to build trust and connection with community members. “Providing health education by showing up for people in trusted environments in the community is a proven and effective way to achieve health equity,” said Aron King, MS, RN, an assistant nurse manager at UC Davis Health.
