Nurse leaders discuss how to promote equity

The Campaign for Action released nine videos of nurse leaders sharing their views on what equity-minded nursing means to them. The Campaign defines equity-minded nurses as those with the “knowledge, skills and desire to advance health equity.” Karen Drenkard, PhD, RN, an AONL member and senior fellow at the AARP Public Policy Institute, says in her video that equity-minded nursing starts “with us each individually ... recognizing where we stand and where we come from, and really doing an assessment of ... our own experiences and what we are as nurses.” The Campaign is an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
