Nurse leaders discuss how health systems can better support them
AONL member Tiffany Murdock, PhD, RN, says her health system is considering a four-day work-week option for nurse leaders and weighing how artificial intelligence and predictive modeling can make staff scheduling easier. Murdock, who serves as New Orleans-based Ochsner Health’s senior vice president and CNO, is one of several nurse leaders who discussed how health systems are supporting nurse leaders. Other systems are considering new models of clinical care and nurse management. The article cites an AONL survey of more than 2,400 nurse leaders that found leaders gave similar reasons as front-line nurses for wanting to quit their roles, such as work negatively affecting their health and well-being.
