Nurse Leader highlights staffing solution
Nursing leaders at Jefferson Health in Philadelphia established a team of nurses who deploy to units that need additional staffing across its 18 hospitals. Profiled in the February Nurse Leader, the Jefferson Health S.E.A.L. RN team enables patients to receive care from permanent staff, nurses to have flexibility in their work options, and leaders to align staffing resources where they need them most. The 30-member, full-time team has increased stability in staffing and reduced reliance on external staffing agencies. It has also contributed to the professional development and career growth of nurses and increased employee retention. Jefferson plans to expand its S.E.A.L. RN team to 100 nurses by July.
