NINR to fund studies to prevent nurse burnout
The National Institute of Nursing Research seeks research studies to develop and evaluate novel organizational interventions to prevent and mitigate nurse burnout in hospitals and other settings. The agency encourages proposals to incorporate interdisciplinary research collaborations and meaningful nurse engagement. Organizational interventions to reduce burnout could include addressing bureaucracy, organizational mission and values, culture and leadership, policies, nurse engagement, diversity and inclusion, power dynamics and administrative burden. NINR encourages studies to evaluate how interventions affect patient outcomes. The first application due date is Oct. 5; proposals will be accepted through May 8, 2025.
