NINR says school health will be next strategic priority
The National Institute of Nursing Research said school health would be its next strategic priority. The NINR selected school health because the school setting greatly influences students’ current and future health and well-being. Schools promoting health and well-being set students up for healthier, more successful lives. Despite the importance of school health, the nursing research documenting effective strategies to improve interrelated health and educational outcomes and disparities has been limited. NINR says significant research opportunities in the area of school health exist that researchers should address. The agency soon will announce scientific events and funding opportunities for school health. (NINR news release, 10/30/24)
