NIH seeks comment on maternal health research gaps
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Research on Women’s Health is accepting comments through Sept. 15 to assist with identifying research gaps and pitfalls in clinical practice related to women’s health issues. The comments will inform an NIH Women’s Health Consensus Conference planned for October. The conference comes in response to a congressional request to address NIH research efforts on women’s health in general, as well as specific conditions, such as rising maternal morbidity and mortality rates, increasing rates of chronic debilitating conditions and cervical cancer survival rates.
