NIH launches grant to develop diverse scholars
The National Institutes of Health invites educational institutions to apply to develop programs to train pre-doctoral scholars from diverse backgrounds in prevention. Scholars will receive training in health disparities/health equity research; the development and implementation of multi-level prevention interventions; and methods to design and analyze studies to evaluate multi-level preventive interventions. NIH encourages institutions to recruit potential candidates from diverse backgrounds, including groups underrepresented in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social sciences. The organization will award up to four grants of $300,000 each in fiscal year 2024. Applications are due by Oct. 31; awards begin July 2024. (NIH news release, 7/25/23)
