NCC thanks FAAN Act sponsors

AONL and 58 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition thanked Senate Nursing Cause Co-Chair Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and House Nursing Caucus Vice Co-Chair and nurse, Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Ill., for reintroducing the Future Advancement of Academic Nursing Act (H.R. 7266/S. 3770). The legislation would improve enrollment and recruitment of nursing students, hire and retain faculty, and provide funds to modernize nursing education infrastructure. In addition, the bill would expand opportunities for nursing schools to form partnerships with nurse-managed health clinics, community health centers and other health care facilities to create and expand clinical education opportunities, with priority given to underserved areas.
