NCC supports Biden’s FY 2024 budget
The Nursing Community Coalition this week released a statement supporting the President Biden’s fiscal year 2024 budget. Under the proposal, Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs would receive $349.9 million, a nearly $50 million increase over fiscal year 2023. The increased funds would grow and diversify the maternal and perinatal health workforce and support the nursing education pipeline, increase nurse faculty and preceptors, and expand enrollment. The budget would include nearly $198 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research. AONL is one of 63 organizations comprising the NCC. The budget request is not binding but can act as a starting point for Congress and the administration to debate raising the nation’s debt limit, funding the government and improving health care.
