NCC sends FY 2025 funding requests to congressional subcommittees

AONL and 56 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition urged the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies to appropriate at least $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and at least $210 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research for Fiscal Year 2025. The amounts requested exceed the president’s fiscal year 2025 proposed budget of $320 million for Title VIII programming, which is a $20 million increase over FY 2023 and FY 2024 Continuing Resolution levels. The president’s proposed budget for FY 2025 for NINR is $198.3 million, consistent with the prior year. In advocating for increased funding, the NCC cites an aging workforce and population and the need to support front-line providers. (NCC letter, 4/22/24)
