NCC outlines priorities for Congress to pass by year-end
AONL and 62 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition urged Congress to pass shared legislative priorities affecting nursing education, workforce and research before the 118th Congress ends. The NCC priorities include three bills AONL designates as priorities: the Future Advancement of Academic Nursing Act (S. 3770/H.R. 7266), the National Nursing Workforce Center Act of 2023 (S. 1150/H.R. 2411) and the Nurse Faculty Shortage Reduction Act (S. 2815/H.R. 7002). The NCC further requests measures to build and sustain safe work environments and preventive practices be included in any year-end package. Separately, the NCC asked the House and Senate Veterans’ Affairs committees to include the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act (S. 1633/H.R. 3428) in any legislative package honoring the nation’s veterans this year.
