NCC letter highlights nursing priorities
In a letter to Congressional leaders, 62 members of the Nursing Community Coalition urge the inclusion of nursing legislative priorities in a year-end package. Priorities include investing in nursing education pathways, making waivers during the pandemic permanent, investing in maternal health, instituting workforce safety measures, supporting the mental health and healthy working environments for nurses, and investing in public health infrastructure. Separate letters from all 63 NCC members thank Congressional nursing champions who are leaving Capitol Hill at the end of the year, including Reps. Lucille Roybal-Allard, D-Calif., Rodney Davis, R-Ill., Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas, and David McKinley, R-W.V. The NCC also thanked Debbie Jessup, a nurse and congressional staffer for Rep. Roybal-Allard. AONL is an NCC member. (NCC letter, 12/2/22)
