NCC lays out nursing priorities
The Nursing Community Coalition welcomed senators and representatives to the 118th Congress. In a letter sent to every member of Congress, the NCC emphasized its priorities of investing in Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs and supporting nursing research. Other priorities listed are maternal health, public and population health, veterans’ health, mental health, supporting the safety and well-being of the nursing workforce and removing unnecessary barriers to care. “As our nation evaluates lessons learned from COVID-19, and as we prepare for the next public health challenge, the contribution of nursing education, workforce and research remains critical; especially as we work to increase access to high-quality health care and promote wellness of the patient and provider,” the letter states. AONL is one of 63 national nursing organizations that make up the NCC. (NCC Senate letter, 1/11/23)
