NCC calls on Congress to continue regulatory waivers

The Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) wrote to congressional leaders this week, asking lawmakers to make permanent several waivers issued during the COVID-19 pandemic, which allowed patients to access care from advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) by removing regulatory burdens. “We urge Congress to take legislative action to make permanent the above waivers so nurses and APRNs can continue to provide high quality health care to patients in all communities, including in rural and underserved areas, now and into the future,” the letter concluded. AONL is one of 63 NCC members. In other federal policy news, 90 representatives signed on to a letter requesting $530 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs in fiscal year 2023. (NCC letter, 4/25/22)
