NCC applauds Nurse Corps Tax Parity Act

The Nursing Community Coalition thanked Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and 11 bipartisan co-sponsors for introducing the Nurse Corps Tax Parity Act of 2023 (S. 1446) . Nurse Corps funding ─ unlike other federal government health care scholarships and loan programs ─ is subject to federal taxes. The legislation would eliminate the tax requirement to create parity in federal programs. AONL and 55 other national nursing organizations signed the letter. (NCC letter, 7/24/23)
