NCC Thanks Sponsors of Bill to Reduce Faculty Shortage

AONL and 50 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition this week thanked Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., and Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-Ore., along with other congressional supporters, for introducing a bill to reduce the faculty shortage. The Nurse Faculty Shortage Reduction Act, (S. 2815/H.R. 7002), would provide grants to close the pay gap between faculty and clinical nurses to encourage more nurses to serve as faculty. The NCC, which includes 63 members, urged Congress to pass the bill as part of a broader health care legislative package before the end of the year. (NCC letter, 2/13/24)
