NCC Supports President’s Budget
The Nursing Community Coalition issued a statement this week praising increased funding for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs and the National Institute of Nursing Research in President Biden’s fiscal year 2025 budget. Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs would receive $320.472 million for fiscal year 2025, a $20 million increase. The increased funding would expand the maternity-care nursing workforce by $10 million and support the nursing pipeline, including maternal health in rural areas by $10 million. The proposal contains more than $198 million for NINR. The NCC, which includes AONL and 62 other national nursing organizations, says the blueprint would address immediate needs, while investing in maternal and mental health, veterans, higher education and support the current and future nursing workforce.
