Mass General Brigham implements patient code of conduct
As violence against health workers increases, Mass General Brigham Hospital implemented a patient code of conduct to curb abuse from patients and visitors. Unacceptable behavior includes making offensive comments about others’ race, accent, religion, gender, sexual orientation or other personal traits, and refusal to see a clinician or other staff member based on these personal traits. Physical or verbal threats and assaults, sexual or vulgar words or action, or disrupting another patient’s care or experience will not be tolerated. Patients who violate the code may need to receive future non-emergency care elsewhere. AONL is committed to addressing workplace violence. (HealthLeaders Media article, 11/7/22)
