Maps show BSN nurse increase
The percentage of nurses with a baccalaureate degree in nursing rose to 59% by 2020 - up from 49% in 2008, according to maps released by the Campaign for Action. The increase is due to nursing schools implementing educational progression models and support from nursing organizations, state governments and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to accelerate academic progression. The Campaign for Action, an initiative of AARP, the AARP Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, will no longer track the percentage of nurses with a baccalaureate degree after this year as its focus shifts to advancing health equity.
