King discusses AONL’s workforce study
In Minority Nurse, AONL Board Member Simmy King discussed the 2022 results of the AONL Foundation Longitudinal Nursing Leadership Insight Study. The results ─ showing nurse leaders were most concerned about the emotional health and well-being of staff and workforce shortages ─ were “validation” of what nurse leaders knew was occurring in health care settings, King said in the February issue. Adding that bullying and violence continue to cause trauma for nurses, King said nurse leaders should address their root causes. King is the chief nursing informatics and education officer at Children’s National Health System in Washington, D.C.
