In December 2020, with the first wave of the pandemic afoot, AONL sent a national inquiry to nurse leaders. Responses from leaders guiding high-stakes initiatives were captured, revealing innovations, solutions and issues of concern. An article in October’s Nurse Leader described the process and findings of the survey and showcased four breakthrough exemplars of leadership excellence. Among the themes highlighted were a return to team-based care, redeployed providers, technology applications, provider support and the advancement of community-based partnerships.
