Joint Commission launches telehealth accreditation
Hospitals, ambulatory and behavioral health care organizations can apply for the Joint Commission’s Telehealth Accreditation program starting July 1. The program will offer updated, streamlined standards to provide organizations offering telehealth services with the structures and processes needed to deliver safe, high-quality care using a telehealth platform. Requirements specific to the program include streamlined emergency management requirements to address providing care and clinical support remotely rather than in a physical building.
