Joint Commission launches health equity certification resource center
The Joint Commission last week launched the Health Care Equity Certification Resource Center to assist organizations pursuing Health Care Equity Certification. The certification, available starting July 1, will recognize organizations working to reduce health care disparities and bridge the gap to equitable care. The certification will distinguish organizations that are embedding health care equity in all aspects of care, treatment and service delivery. The resource center provides practical strategies for meeting the program’s standards and elements of performance. It organizes tools, templates and guides by key topic areas, such as leadership, collaboration, data collection, provision of care and performance improvement.
