Use of telehealth services increased exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic, making it the focus of the latest issue of the Joint Commission publication Quick Safety. The issue outlines the benefits of telehealth, the barriers and challenges that may be encountered, safety actions to consider and the steps needed to establish a successful telehealth program. These include establishing key metrics for success and ensuring the organization has a secure platform. Other topics covered include ways to improve efficacy and data use.
