Joint Commission finalizes 2024 ORYX reporting requirements

The 2024 ORYX performance-measure reporting requirements include joining the Joint Commission National Healthcare Safety Network Group. The Joint Commission says sharing the NHSN data will permit it to include more recent data in its Accelerate PI dashboards and identify quality improvement opportunities. No patient identifiers will be shared with the Joint Commission. Starting July 1, 2024, hospitals will need to allow the Joint Commission to access de-identified data on five NHSN hospital-associated infection measures from the NHSN application. The Joint Commission will send hospitals information about joining the NHSN group in late 2023 and early 2024. (Joint Commission Online article, 11/1/23)
