Joint Commission campaign promotes vaccination

The Joint Commission last week launched the Speak Up About Vaccinations campaign. The materials convey that delaying childhood vaccination may put those children and others at greater risk for diseases and vaccinations do not cause autism. The education materials include an infographic in English and Spanish, an animated video depicting a family getting vaccinated and a guide to help health care organizations disseminate the information. They are free to use if credited to the Joint Commission. The materials were launched following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s announcement of a record-high 40 million children missing one or more measles vaccine doses since the onset of the pandemic. This week, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky urged Americans to get vaccinated against the flu as cases continue to rise to their highest levels in 10 years. (Joint Commission news release, 11/30/22)
