JAMA offers vaccine promotion recommendations
The United States needs to use “innovative behavioral science and social marketing approaches to increase COVID-19 vaccine confidence and acceptance in diverse populations,” according to a recent editorial in JAMA. The authors proposed five strategies: make vaccines free and easy to access; make access to valued settings available only to the vaccinated; obtain endorsements from trusted leaders; provide priority access to people who sign up for vaccination before vaccines become widely available; and transform individual vaccination decisions into a public act.
