Inova case study shows violence reduction

Inova Health System used a multidisciplinary team to reduce the severity and frequency of injuries in its emergency departments, behavioral health units and across the system, according to an American Hospital Association case study. The Safety Always for Everyone team ─ comprised of experts from nursing, medicine, behavioral health, security, chaplains, pharmacy and other essential departments ─ responds to and mitigates violent incidents, conducts comprehensive debriefs, develops and updates policies and procedures. The SAFE team advances the Falls Church, Va.-based health system’s efforts to address workplace violence. (AHA News article, 6/9/23)
