HHS invests nearly $35 million in pediatric mental health
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced nearly $35 million in funding opportunities to strengthen and expand community mental health services and suicide prevention programs for U.S. children and young adults. Seven grant programs will expand access to proven treatments, interventions and other recovery supports and foster the development of innovative solutions. An HHS study published in JAMA Pediatrics reported significant increases in the number of children diagnosed with mental health conditions between 2016 and 2020. (HHS news release, 3/9/22)
