HHS invests $103 million to address maternal health crisis

The Department of Health and Human Services announced this week it is awarding more than $103 million to support and expand access to maternal health and forming a task force to address maternal mental health conditions and co-occurring substance use disorders. HHS also will launch a public education campaign on postpartum depression. The campaign seeks to increase awareness of postpartum depression symptoms, visibility of reliable resources and understanding of how to access care. (HHS news release, 9/27/23)
