Corewell Health combats burnout
An American Hospital Association podcast features Corewell Health’s efforts to prioritize well-being as a systemwide strategy. The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based health system uses a well-being assessment tool annually and shares the findings with every clinical service line. Each entity assembles an action plan to address well-being. Corewell has recruited 60 change agents throughout the organization who are part of its Well-being Champion Network. They connect individuals with the organization’s resources and programs. Corewell also offers coaching to mitigate burnout, providing peer support group settings. It recently received the Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation recognition for changing its credentialing to align with best practices and remove barriers to mental health care for health workers.
