Cipriano named AAN Living Legend
AONL Member Pamela Cipriano, PhD, RN, will be designated an American Academy of Nursing Living Legend this fall at the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference in Washington, D.C. Cipriano’s 40-year career in leadership positions spans academic and practice and highlights her commitment to improving care through safe and supportive nursing environments. She served as chief clinical officer/CNO at UVA Health, Charlottesville, which earned its initial Magnet designation under her leadership. Her other leadership positions include serving as dean of the University of Virginia School of Nursing and president of the American Nurses Association. She is the current president of the International Council of Nurses. Cipriano is one of six Living Legends named this year. (AAN news release, 7/19/23)
