Center supports health care worker well-being
To address clinician well-being, the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville started the Center for Healthy Minds and Practice. The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety published a study in its April issue about the on-campus behavioral support center, which improves crisis response, creates peer support and removes barriers to accessing mental health care. Separately, the American Hospital Association’s Trustee Services and Behavioral Health teams released a guide to help hospital boards understand and prevent suicides in the health care workforce. The guide includes resources to begin the conversation about workforce behavioral health supports. (Joint Commission news release, 3/23/23)
