CDC webinar covers COVID-19 prevention in immunocompromised
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) hosted a webinar this week to inform clinicians of the therapeutic options available for preventing severe COVID-19 in immunocompromised people. Presenters discussed the process for ordering and distributing monoclonal antibodies, options for compassionate use, and current data on both non-hospitalized and immunocompromised patients. Presenters also addressed preventing, diagnosing and treating COVID-19 in immunocompromised patients, including the role of monoclonal antibodies, serologic testing and potential third doses of COVID-19 vaccinations. The presentation was recorded and will be available on the CDC website.
