CDC recommends RSV vaccine for older adults
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week recommended the use of the Respiratory Syncytial Virus vaccines from GSK and Pfizer for people ages 60 years and older. Starting this fall, individuals will be able to receive a single dose of the vaccine based on discussions with their health care provider about whether RSV vaccination is right for them. The vaccines, approved by the Food and Drug Administration last month, are the first U.S.-licensed vaccines to protect against RSV. (CDC news release, 6/29/23)
