CDC publishes guidance for treating post-COVID conditions
Updated guidance on evaluating and caring for patients with post-COVID conditions is now available from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The guidance encourages health professionals to look beyond laboratory tests and imaging in assessing patients’ symptoms and to use patient-centered and shared decision-making approaches to optimizing patient function and quality of life. The understanding of post-COVID conditions remains incomplete, the agency emphasized, and guidance will likely change as the evidence evolves. (CDC update, 6/14/21)
