CDC launches campaign to support worker well-being
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health this week launched the Impact Wellbeing campaign. The campaign provides hospital leaders with evidence-informed resources to improve workplace policies and practices that reduce burnout, normalize asking for help and strengthen professional well-being. Hospital leaders can use a well-being questionnaire to understand how their workforce is doing and identify ways to improve well-being; a leadership storytelling guide; and strategies to train front-line supervisors to help their staff balance their work and home responsibilities. In addition, the campaign includes three simple steps leaders can take to remove mental health questions on hospital credentialing applications, which area substantial system barrier to workplace well-being.
