CDC forms health equity office

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will create an Office of Health Equity as part of an announced restructuring following widespread criticism during the pandemic. The CDC also will form an Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance and Technology to build the infrastructure needed to connect all levels of public health with the data needed to act. Most of the organization will report directly to the Immediate Office of the Director. In addition, a leadership team consisting of experts from various disciplines will provide supervision over the CDC. (The Hill article, 1/24/23)
