Begley shares insights on pandemic’s impact on nursing
The pandemic has had “negative, positive and as-yet-unknown effects” on nurses, according to nurse leaders who shared their insights in a recent article in U.S. News & World Report. Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, AONL CEO and chief nursing officer and senior vice president of workforce for the American Hospital Association, focused on how job-related stressors impacted nurses’ personal lives and mental health before pointing to the pandemic’s “silver linings.” “Nurses have taken on leadership roles in this work, while utilizing innovative strategies to promote health such as telehealth technology, which allows patients to receive care from the safety and convenience of their home," she said.
