Article explores systems-based domains for professional identity
Nurse leaders should employ the new professional identity in nursing domains to reframe nursing challenges and the expectations of front-line nurses, from accomplishing tasks to using systems thinking to solve problems, according to an article in the April Nurse Leader. Using a professional identity mindset enables leaders to focus on evidence to develop creative solutions to managing clinician burnout and advancing the profession. Leaders should use this mindset to advance recent recommendations from the National Academy of Medicine and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, the authors write.
