AONL urges support for nursing research within U.S. military
In an Aug. 21 letter, AONL urged Congressional leaders to provide at least $6 million in fiscal year 2021 funding for the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) through the National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 6935). The letter described TSNRP as a “critical and effective program” and “one of a very few military-focused research programs that promotes and funds the translation of nursing-based evidence into practice at the bedside.” For the last 20 years, this program has “supported nursing innovations that have saved lives and improved the nursing care for the men and women in uniform as well as patients across the health care continuum.” AONL would like to see the program permanently funded through a specific line-item request in the Department of Defense budget.
